The portable radon meter RAD7 is a portable radon continuous monitor produced by the American company DURRIDGE. It can not only measure radon in the air, but also can measure radon in water and soil at the same time with the optional soil probe and water probe. The following is a detailed introduction, standard configuration list and optional accessories of the radon meter.
The American DURRIDGE Company’s RAD7 alpha spectrum radon detector is a sniffing and continuously operating portable detector with short response and recovery time on the market. The operation is simple, just follow the prompts of the microcomputer, and the measured radon and thoron gas concentrations will be displayed with spectrum curves, and the data can be output with an infrared printer. The drying device reduces the humidity of the sampled air and improves the accuracy of the test results. You can set up the beeps for radon and thoron counts to learn about high pollution areas. A variety of accessories are available to measure radon in the air, soil and water.
It only takes 1 hour to measure the US EPA action level concentration of 4 pCi/L.
According to the “Measurement Law of the People’s Republic of China” and relevant regulations and technical requirements, the RAD7 electronic radon meter of the American company DURRIDGE has been certified and obtained the meter type approval certificate of the People’s Republic of China. Type approval number PA 2006-C262.

Before starting the measurement, place the RAD7 in a dry, radon-free atmosphere to clean the instrument gas circuit for a period of time. During the cleaning process, use a large laboratory drying cylinder. And the small drying stick does the actual measuring. First connect the filter to the air inlet port of RAD7 (refer to the RAD7 operation manual), and then connect the large drying cylinder to the filter. After cleaning the RAD7 air path in clean and dry air for 10 minutes, press the [MENU] key, then press the [ENTER] key twice to enter the status window, and press the right arrow key twice to view Check the relative humidity. If the relative humidity has not dropped to 6%, clean it for a while. In order to effectively dry, after the first 10 minutes of air line cleaning, connect the air outlet of RAD7 to the inlet of the drying cylinder to form a closed loop. This allows continuous drying of the RAD7 without the need to introduce fresh air.
If the RAD7 has not been used for a period of time, or the hose connecting the air inlet and outlet has been disconnected, it will take longer to dry the air path, at least 30 minutes. Once the drying process is completed, it only takes 10 minutes to clean the gas line during each measurement.
