Accurate Technologies Inc. (ATI) provides PICOTURN PTCM speed sensors for turbochargers. Compared to optical or magnetic sensing systems, the PICOTURN system has been proven to be a robust, reliable, simple, accurate, and cost-effective solution. The functional principle of this system is to use electromagnetic sensors installed on the compressor to individually detect and count the compressor blades through 1 MHz pulse induction and eddy current identification, and generate standard TTL/CMOS output signals.
The PICOTURN PTCM includes a sensor with a 1.5-meter cable, a compact, sturdy signal conditioning box, and a wire for output and power supply. If connected and installed according to PICOTURN’s recommendations, both the sensor and PTCM box have a protection level of IP67, making them very suitable for installation under the engine hood. PTCM can measure compressor wheel speeds up to 400,000 rpm, with a minimum operating speed of 200 rpm.
The PICOTURN system has the advantage of high sensitivity, and when the blade thickness is 0.6 millimeters, the distance between the sensor and the rotating blade can reach 1 millimeter. According to the length and thread of the sensor head, there are multiple sensors to choose from to adapt to different user situations. The PTSM-H series has higher sensitivity and can be used for titanium wheels and other critical applications that require higher temperatures.
Characteristic:
– Compact in size
– Supports all standard and H-type PICOTURN 1G sensors
– IP67 protection level
– Adjustable number of leaves
– Designed for use under the engine hood
